Description

CASSIDA FLUID WG 460 is a high-performance, synthetic gear oils designed for the lubrication of worm gears and heavily loaded gears in food and beverage processing equipment. Formulated with synthetic base fluids and specialized additives, it meets the strict requirements of the food industry.

These lubricants are registered by NSF (Class H1) for incidental food contact and are manufactured under FUCHS quality standards, incorporating HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices within ISO 9001 and ISO 21469 hygiene management systems.

Applications

     •  Recommended for worm gears requiring excellent thermal stability.
     •  Suitable for enclosed gearboxes in the food industry.
     •  Ideal for applications with high load and extreme pressure requirements.

General Instructions
When transitioning from mineral oil or PAO-based lubricants:
     •  Heat the equipment to normal operating temperature.
     •  Drain the existing oil completely, paying attention to reservoirs and lines where oil may be trapped.
     •  Flush the system with CASSIDA FLUID WG 460, then drain the flushing lubricant.
     •  Refill with fresh CASSIDA FLUID WG 460.
Note: Seals exposed to mineral oils may shrink when switched to CASSIDA FLUID WG 460, potentially causing leaks. Seal replacement may be necessary.

Seal and Paint Compatibility

     •  Compatible with most elastomers, gaskets, and seals commonly used in food machinery lubrication systems.
     •  Recommended materials include Nitrile Rubber (NBR), Fluoro-Silicone, or Vinyl-Methyl Polysiloxane (Q), particularly for high-temperature applications.
     •  Using polyurethane-based elastomers, leather, cork, asbestos paper, or board shoud be avoided.
     •  Some industrial paints may soften in contact with CASSIDA FLUID WG 460. Internal gearbox surfaces should ideally remain unpainted or coated with resistant materials like two-part epoxy formulations.

Handling and Storage

All food grade lubricants should be stored separately from other lubricants, chemical substances and foodstuffs and out of direct sunlight or other heat sources. Store between 0 °C and +40 °C. Provided that the product has been stored under these conditions we recommend to use the product within 5 years from the date of manufacture. Upon opening a pack, the product must be used within 2 years (or within 5 years of date of manufacture, whichever is the sooner).
