BARRIERTA L 55/0 – High-Performance Lubricant for Extreme Conditions
BARRIERTA L 55/0 is Europe’s longest-standing premium brand of high-temperature lubricant, formulated with perfluorinated polyether oil (PFPE). Renowned for its long-term stability and exceptional thermal resistance, BARRIERTA continues to uphold its reputation for superior performance.
The BARRIERTA L 55/0 series is manufactured using strictly controlled raw materials, ensuring consistent quality and reliability. These long-term greases provide outstanding resistance to high temperatures and aggressive media while maintaining compatibility with plastics and elastomers.
BARRIERTA L 55/0 NSF H1 registered and comply with FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570, making it suitable for incidental contact with food products and packaging materials in food-processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and animal feed industries. It's use enhances production reliability, though we recommend conducting a risk assessment, such as HACCP, for added safety assurance.
Applications
High-Temperature Rolling and Plain Bearings
The BARRIERTA L 55/0 is ideal for lubricating bearings and guides that operate under extreme temperatures. With a low evaporation rate, these greases provide extended service life and prolonged relubrication intervals.
Typical applications include:
- Conveyors (load and turn rollers)
- Kiln cart wheel bearings
- Calender bearings
- Fan bearings
- Chain bearings in film-stretching stenters
Softer grade is recommended for relubrication.
Lubrication in Aggressive Environments
BARRIERTA L 55/0 grease delivers exceptional longevity even when exposed to harsh substances such as concentrated acids, lyes, organic solvents, and gases. It's superior adhesion and sealing properties make them ideal for:
- Valves, fittings, and installations in the chemical industry
- Pneumatic components
- Level gauges for fuels or chemicals
- Seals (static and dynamic)
- Extraction systems
Food-Processing and Pharmaceutical Applications
As NSF H1-registered lubricants, BARRIERTA L 55/0 complies with FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570. Additionally, certification under ISO 21469 ensures compliance with hygiene standards in production environments.
Due to their white color and food-grade certification, BARRIERTA L 55/0 lubricant is suitable for friction points where incidental food contact is unavoidable, such as:
- Rolling and plain bearings in automatic baking ovens
- Cooking and frying lines
- Conveyor systems exposed to high thermal loads
Plastic-Plastic Friction Points
Regardless of the NLGI grade, BARRIERTA L 55/0 grease is generally compatible with most plastics. We recommend performing compatibility tests before large-scale application, especially with fluoroelastomers.
Application Guidelines
Before applying BARRIERTA L 55/0, friction points must be free from oil, grease, perspiration, and contaminants.
