High-Performance Refrigeration Compressor Oil for Industrial Applications
Key Features & Benefits
- Lower Oil Carryover: Due to its high level of refinement, Klüber Summit RHT FG 68 significantly reduces oil consumption compared to conventional mineral oils.
- Stable Viscosity: Contains minimal volatile hydrocarbons, preventing viscosity increases and premature oil changes.
- Superior Chemical Stability: Designed to resist ammonia’s effects, preventing black deposits and sludge formation common with mineral oils.
- Extended Oil Change Intervals: Its hydrogenated base oil allows for longer maintenance cycles and improved refrigeration efficiency due to low solubility in ammonia.
- Reliable Low-Temperature Performance: Proven to perform in evaporator temperatures as low as -33°C, depending on operational conditions.
- Industry Compliance: Meets DIN 51 5031, KAA standards and is NSF H1-registered, complying with FDA 21 CFR 178.3570 for incidental food contact.
- Safe for Food & Pharma Industries: Suitable for food processing, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and animal feed applications, supporting HACCP-based risk management.
Applications
Klüber Summit RHT FG 68 is specifically developed for screw-type and reciprocating piston compressors in industrial refrigeration systems.
Application Guidelines
- Drain old oil from the refrigeration circuit while warm.
- Replace oil filters and separators, and fully drain oil traps.
- Refill the compressor with Klüber Summit RHT FG 68.
-
Oil Compatibility:
- Miscible with many refrigeration oils based on mineral oil, alkylbenzenes, and PAOs.
- Check miscibility before use. For optimal performance, a complete oil and filter change is recommended.
Seal Compatibility & Considerations
- Neutral towards most chloroprene and neoprene seals used in refrigeration systems.
- Less soluble than naphthene-based mineral oils, minimizing seal swelling effects.
- Possible Seal Shrinkage: When switching from naphthene-based oils, minor temporary leaks may occur as seals return to their original size. These are typically small and reversible, depending on system maintenance and runtime.
