Description
UNISILKON L 250 L is a specialized lubricant made from silicone oil and PTFE, offering exceptional thermal stability. It provides excellent penetration in small lubrication gaps and hard-to-reach lubrication points. Due to its relatively high viscosity, it enhances adhesion, even in challenging geometries. UNISILKON L 250 L is resistant to cold and hot water, superheated steam up to approximately 130°C, and industrial cleaning agents and disinfectants. It is also compatible with pumpable foodstuffs and beverages such as fruit juices, beer, and dairy products. However, it is not resistant to organic solvents or strong acid and alkaline solutions. Registered as NSF H1, UNISILKON L 250 L meets FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570 regulations, making it suitable for incidental contact with food, packaging materials, and products in the food-processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or animal feed industries. Using UNISILKON L 250 L can enhance the reliability of your production processes. Nonetheless, we recommend performing an additional risk analysis, such as HACCP.
Application
UNISILKON L 250 L is ideal for use as a lubricating and sealing grease in various applications, including:
- Domestic valves and fittings for drinking water (e.g., ceramic discs, piston cartridges, and thermo regulators). Thanks to its viscosity stability across temperature ranges, UNISILKON L 250 L ensures consistent actuating forces in cold and hot water systems, such as single-lever mixer taps.
- Valves and fittings in heating installations (e.g., thermoregulators, tap cocks, and pressfit seals).
UNISILKON L 250 L also serves as an effective assembly aid for radial shaft seals and packings exposed to cold or hot water and steam.
Application Notes
UNISILKON L 250 L is compatible with most metals, thermoplastics, and elastomers. However, given the wide variety of elastomer and plastic compositions, compatibility should be verified before large-scale use. The product can be applied using a spatula, brush, standard metering devices, or the tampon printing method.
