Description
Klüberbeta VR 87-883 is a specialty lubricant formulated with silicone oil and light-colored solid lubricants, offering exceptional thermal stability even under extreme and varying ambient conditions. This lubricant demonstrates excellent adhesion to various materials and surfaces. It reliably wets difficult-to-reach friction points and narrow lubrication gaps, while also maintaining its position in unfavorable component geometries, such as vertical setups or moving friction points.
Application
Klüberbeta VR 87-883 serves a wide range of functions, including as a lubricant, sliding agent, and sealing compound. It is commonly used in gas equipment of all types, including the associated fittings that come into contact with fuel gases as defined by EN 377. This includes valves such as ball, taper plug, and others used in cooking and heating installations, particularly those made from copper, copper alloys, aluminum, brass, or aluminum alloys. These fittings are used with fuel gases or gas mixtures, including natural gas, town gas, propane, and butane as outlined in DVGW worksheet G260.
Additionally, Klüberbeta VR 87-883 is effective in applications requiring enhanced sliding performance, prevention of stick-slip, and reduction of wear and abrasion. It is commonly used in ceramic discs, piston cartridges, thermostatic valves, plastic valves, and other components exposed to cold or hot water or steam up to 130 °C.
The lubricant is also applicable in the beverage, food processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and animal feed industries, where it functions as a pressing aid, removal aid (for O-rings, sleeves, etc.), or a sliding and sealing agent for valves and ground joints in laboratory equipment. In pneumatics, it is used for initial and lifetime lubrication of cylinders and valves, as well as an assembly aid for radial shaft seals and sealing packings, especially in environments involving water and a wide range of chemicals.
Klüberbeta VR 87-883 is resistant to acidic and alkaline solutions up to 10%, as well as to temperatures up to 90 °C. However, it is not resistant to most organic solvents or strong acids and alkalis.
Compliance
Klüberbeta VR 87-883 is NSF H1 registered, ensuring compliance with FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570. The use of this lubricant can enhance the reliability of your production processes. However, it is advisable to conduct an additional risk analysis, such as HACCP, to ensure safety.
Application Notes
Klüberbeta VR 87-883 can be applied using a spatula, brush, metering equipment, or pad printing process. When using pumps, follow the instructions in the safety data sheet. For optimal performance, ensure that all surfaces in contact with the lubricant are free from oil, grease, process residues, sweat, or contamination, especially during initial lubrication.
This lubricant is neutral towards most metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and elastomers. However, due to the wide variety of elastomer and plastic materials, it is recommended to verify compatibility before large-scale use.
