Description
Klüberfood NH1 87-703 is a specialized lubricating grease made from highly viscous silicone oils and PTFE solid lubricants. It is designed for use in process equipment where a high level of cleanliness is required. The product is NSF H1 registered and complies with FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570, making it suitable for incidental contact with food, packaging materials, and products in the food-processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and animal feed industries. Using Klüberfood NH1 87-703 can enhance the safety of your production processes. However, we recommend conducting a risk analysis, such as HACCP, to ensure its suitability.
Application
Klüberfood NH1 87-703 is ideal for lubricating valves and fittings with EPDM seals in the food-processing and pharmaceutical industries. Seals treated with Klüberfood NH1 87-703 exhibit reduced friction and delayed wear. This grease can also be used for low-speed rolling bearings under very low loads (C/P > 30) in the beverage industry where an EPDM-compatible food-grade lubricant is required. Klüberfood NH1 87-703 is resistant to both cold and hot water, steam, and many disinfectants and cleaning agents. Tests conducted by the German Research Institute Weihenstephan confirm that Klüberfood NH1 87-703 does not affect the formation of froth or the taste of beer.
Application Notes
Klüberfood NH1 87-703 can be applied using a spatula, grease gun, or directly from the tube. When applying highly viscous lubricants, it is important to select the correct method. Air intake should be avoided, as high pressure could cause oxidation and lead to the product's disintegration. To minimize this risk, it is recommended to pump the product at the lowest possible pressure and use wide-diameter lines. Given the variety of system configurations and application conditions, it is essential to confirm the product’s pumpability with the system manufacturer for each specific application. We are happy to assist in this process.
Users should always ensure that only new high-pressure pumping lines are used for lubricants. To prevent grease leakage, we advise wearing protective gear, such as safety goggles. Avoid applying Klüberfood NH1 87-703 to components made of nonferrous metals.

Klüberfood NH1 87-703 is compatible with most metals, thermoplastics, and elastomers. Due to the variety of elastomer and plastic compositions, it is recommended to check compatibility before applying it in series applications.
