Description
Klüberplus SK 02-295 is a lubricating wax formulated from high-molecular synthetic hydrocarbons. It provides excellent protection against friction, wear, tribocorrosion, and rust while preventing stick-slip effects. This lubricant ensures smooth operation, particularly in boundary and mixed friction conditions, where minor sliding movements or high loads are involved. It is highly effective on friction components made from various materials, especially aluminum alloys.
Tests using the Tannert sliding indicator confirmed the superior lubricating properties of Klüberplus SK 02-295. Nearly all friction coefficients remained below 0.1, with no stick-slip movement observed.
A key feature of Klüberplus SK 02-295 is its temperature-dependent consistency. As temperatures rise between 45°C and 75°C, the wax transitions into a liquid state while maintaining strong adhesion. In tests on a heated steel (ST 14) plate at 100°C, the lubricant remained in place without running off. When applied to a cold surface, approximately 6 g/m² of Klüberplus SK 02-295 was used.
The lubricant’s texture is reversible—once temperatures drop below 45°C–75°C, it solidifies again, making it highly stable and resistant to low temperatures. Additionally, it demonstrates excellent oxidation resistance.
Klüberplus SK 02-295 is safe for incidental food contact, classified as non-toxic and environmentally friendly. It is categorized as water hazard class 1 (not hazardous). Furthermore, it provides exceptional corrosion protection. In condensation water-alternating climate tests (DIN 50 017 KFW), it achieved a corrosion rating of 0 after 30 cycles (720 hours), matching the performance of top-tier corrosion inhibitors and outperforming hydraulic oils.
Klüberplus SK 02-295 is NSF H1 registered and meets FDA regulation 21 CFR § 178.3570. It is suitable for industries requiring incidental food contact, such as food processing, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and animal feed production. Using this lubricant can enhance the reliability of production processes; however, an additional risk analysis (e.g., HACCP) is recommended.
Applications
Klüberplus SK 02-295 is designed for various industrial applications, including:
- Press fits: Facilitates the installation of pins, bolts, and bushings.
- Sliding guides: Ensures smooth, stick-free movement.
- Sliding points: Provides long-term lubrication under mixed friction conditions.
- Hinges: Offers clean, non-tacky lubrication to prevent squeaking.
- Screws: Reduces friction for controlled and steady tightening.
- Ropes: Improves handling and provides reliable corrosion protection.
- Shaft/hub connections: Prevents tribocorrosion and fretting corrosion.
Additionally, Klüberplus SK 02-295 is highly effective in metal-forming processes such as deep-drawing CrNi steel or aluminum sheets, as well as threading and drilling plates. Its efficiency has been validated through extensive mechanical and practical testing.
Application Instructions
Cold Application
For polished surfaces, apply Klüberplus SK 02-295 manually in three to four layers. For standard surfaces, apply twice. No additional tools are required. The resulting film thickness is approximately 6 µm, depending on the applied force and speed.
Hot Application
For optimal performance, apply Klüberplus SK 02-295 to preheated surfaces. Heating the component to 50–70°C allows for faster, more uniform application and reduced friction coefficients.
