Klübersynth UH1 6-460 – High-Performance Gear & High-Temperature Oil
Description
Klübersynth UH1 6-460 is a high-performance gear and high-temperature lubricants formulated with a polyglycol base. These oils meet strict industry regulations, including:
- German Food Law (LMBG, §5/1)
- FDA Guidelines (21 CFR 178.3570)
- USDA H1 food-grade lubricant requirements
They also comply with CLP regulations and exhibit excellent scuffing load resistance. In the FZG Four Square Gear Oil Test (DIN 51 354, Part 2, A/8.3/90), Klübersynth UH1 6 oils achieved:
- Scuffing load stage >12
- Specific weight change < 0.2 mg/kWh
- In the enhanced FZG test (A/16.6/90) met a scuffing load stage of >12.
Key Benefits:
- Outstanding wear and corrosion protection
- High oxidation and ageing stability
- Excellent shear resistance and high-temperature stability
Applications
Klübersynth UH1 6-460 is specially developed for worm gears with steel/bronze pairings, significantly reducing friction and wear due to it's polyglycol base and advanced additives.
They are also suitable for:
- Bevel and spur gears
- Plain and rolling bearings, especially at high temperatures
- Lifting, drive, and conveyor chains
Application Guidelines
-
Lubrication Methods:
- Can be applied via immersion, circulation, or injection.
-
Oil Compatibility:
- Not miscible with mineral oils or synthetic hydrocarbons.
- Before switching, flush the system with Klübersynth UH1 6 oil to prevent contamination.
- To maintain H1 compliance, avoid mixing with non-food-grade lubricants.
-
Material Compatibility:
- Neutral towards ferrous and most nonferrous metals.
- Aluminum and aluminum alloys may experience increased wear under dynamic loads—preliminary testing is recommended.
-
Seal Compatibility:
- For temperatures up to 100°C, use NBR (acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber) seals.
- For higher temperatures, FKM (fluorinated rubber) seals are recommended.
- Since elastomer behavior varies by manufacturer, compatibility testing is advised.
-
Surface & Paint Considerations:
- Two-component (reaction) paints are recommended.
- Oil gauge glasses should be made of natural glass or polyamide materials.
- Material compatibility tests should be performed before large-scale application.
Conclusion
Klübersynth UH1 6 oils offer superior performance in high-temperature and food-grade applications, ensuring efficient lubrication, wear protection, and regulatory compliance. Proper application and material compatibility testing will help maximize their benefits.
Minimum shelf life:
The minimum shelf life is approx. 36 months if the product is stored in the original closed container in a dry place.
